Katina Merino

Bio

Katina (Kat) Merino is a dedicated family law attorney handling all aspects of family law, including complex financial matters, property division, alimony, child support, child custody disputes, second-parent adoptions, prenuptial agreements, restraining orders, and post-judgment matters.

Kat takes a client-centered approach, striving to understand each family’s unique circumstances and working collaboratively to find creative solutions that best meet their needs. She is known for her strong advocacy, clear communication, and compassionate representation.

Kat earned her law degree with honors from Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she served as Research Editor of the Quinnipiac Probate Law Journal and published a note analyzing consumer DNA testing and sperm donor anonymity. She also worked at the school’s Civil Justice Clinic, assisting low-income clients with immigration matters, including asylum seekers, unaccompanied minors, and undocumented victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.

She holds her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is fluent in Spanish.

Outside of her legal practice, Kat can often be found at the ice rink cheering on her children at their hockey events.
